Taper-Lok® has had very much success and a long service history in both onshore and refining applications. Taper-Lok® products
withstand the vigorous demands of super-critical steam,
hydrogen gas, heat transfer fluids, hydrogen sulfide, low
molecular weight gases, and many more “hard to hold” materials.
Reasons for using a Taper-Lok® flange connection
in a petrochemical application include:
- 100% leak-free sealing technology backed by over
350 million hours of documented service history.
- Both the flanges and the seal rings are manufactured
from the same material thereby giving the same rate of
expansion and contraction throughout the bolted connection.
- 2-degree axial misalignment allows the assembly
of heavy wall and return bend systems to be less demanding
and burdensome.
- The Taper-Lok® compact design reduces
space and weight on large installation projects such
as process skids and heat exchangers reducing the project’s
overall cost.
- Taper-Lok® flange connections provide
high resistance to cyclic, fatigue, and vibration loads. For
example, Rolls Royce uses our flanges for extended testing
of jet engines.
- Taper-Lok® flange connections have lower torque
requirements in addition to smaller bolt diameters making
assembly and installation much easier.
- Taper-Lok® connections are used on
hydrogen, helium, chemical, and other super-critical
lines. Also,
our products are used in a variety of processes, such
as Isomerization, Hydrogenation, Dehydrogenation, Organic
Synthesis, Oxidations, Reduction Reactions, Polymerizations,
as well as Critical Water Services.
